La Lune Chuchote que …

This very personal piece is finally completed! I wanted to wait a little bit until I posted it on the blog because I made one major change to the piece. But if you have been following me on Facebook, then you might have seen it already in its uncorrected version.

Here is “Enlacés” (which means Entwined) a 11×14 watercolor, colored pencils and acrylics illustration of my feelings for a special someone. I’ve poured a lot of my heart an soul into this one!

For those who might be interested, prints of this illustration are available at my Etsy shop. My own personal website is being seriously revamped, so it won’t be available there for a while.

I’m still learning to create embroideries with my illustrations, but they are still simple compared to what I could do or what I would like to do! My first design was a cookie, this one is a cupcake. Both are base on pins I had done last year. My hope is to be able to learn to do more complex embroideries using my more complicated illustration. Wouldn’t that be neat? I’d love to do a Batty embroidery!

My wonderful software teacher Ruth is showing me how I can take things further with the embroideries, so I feel confident that I will get it right one day and be able to do more. I’d love to be able to do bags with some really neat and original illustrations on them! That’s the goal!

But right now, I can only offer simpler, cuter designs on pencil cases. I hope you still like them though!

A little something I’ve been working one for some time now. Haven’t been working all that long on the actual thing though, but the design of the embroidery took a long time to do. I had to learn the software, had to learn how my sewing machine worked when it came to embroideries had to redo and redo again until it was just right. And no, creating an embroidery is not automated, you have to kinda draw the whole thing but with types of stitches. The cookie embroidery took around 10 hours to do as a reference.

Some of you might recognise my little pin design of the cookie. I reused my drawing to make and embroidery with it and I plan on doing many more of my pin designs into cute embroideries to use on items.

Once I was done with the embroidery, I thought it would be neat to put it on a pencil case, and sell it on both my site and Etsy.

They are made of cotton, doubled and all done by me. The embroidery is made of silk thread!
